I've not been to an acctual RAVE, however, I have of late been to several of The Dark Rave events in Toronto.
I went to my first on 2006, Feb 4, and had a great time. Interesting story though, I'd heard of the The Dark Rave back in 2000 April. I found one of the fliers for the event, the fourth. and I figured it was som annual thing. I liked the picture so I kept it and still have it today, it's this picture to the left here. Any way almost 6 years later in 2006, Feb. I'm in Toronto to go to a Fetish Party. I was going to be wearing this
subtle outfit
(right). I was early and couldn't get in yet so I'm waiting in a coffee shop down the street were I meet Chirtine. She loved my jacket and we got talking. She worked at the Velvet Underground, a night club downtown, but lived across the street from the club I was waiting to get in to. Now the fetish party ends at 3AM and my bus home leaves Toronto at 7AM, so I tells Christine this and she invites me to The Dark Rave. Surprised I learn it's the first Saterday night of every month. She writes down the info to get there on a card for me, I still have it in my wallet were I put it that night. So after an hour or so I get in to the fetish party were I did'n have a great time, it was OK but mostly just people prancing around shopping and being seen. and then around midnite-thirty it's getting really hot and crouded there so I start thinking about The Dark Rave and how it's been six years and how hot christine was. So I get out and grab a cab. Now it was raining that night so I have my hat in a bag and my jacket in my backpack. when I got to the Funhaus I was turned back at the door by the door guy. I told him I was very disapointed and that I had travelled all the way from Peterborough, two hours drive. then I turned away and started to walk away, where upon he came up to me and told me that he thought I was someone else but I was alowed in, so I whent upstairs and I felt welcomed and had a great time. Concidering how tired I was
One thing I love about the rave community is that the people are very accepting and easy-going.
