and I think there COOL. We'll also be looking at things you should know about sneakers, fit, sizes, bad info, bells & whistles, were to get them, a little history, stuff like that...About the terms in this site, there are many terms for athletic footwear I will try to use only one or them sneakers but I may use one of the various other names from time to time. . Sneakers, or trainers, as they are called in British English, are footwear of flexible material, typically featuring a sole made of rubber. Sneakers were originally sporting apparel, but are today worn much more widely as casual footwear. They are now very popular, especially with young people.
Etymology
The term "sneaker" itself was first used in 1916 by the US Rubber Company for the Keds brand, because rubber soles made the shoes less squeaky.
Popular Brands
Popular brands include Adidas, Converse, New Balance, Nike, PUMA and Reebok.
Less Popular Brands
Less Popular brands include are sometimes better.
Invention
The first "sneaker" was invented in 1893. It was made of canvas and was invented so boaters would not have to wear dress shoes when they were on deck.
